App and website development

On 20th July we had a meeting to discuss the development of the project’s app and website. In attendance were representatives from the Hampshire Ornithological Society, RSPB, Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre, Langstone Harbour Board, Chichester Harbour Conservancy, New Forest District Council and also the BTO Wetland Bird Survey local organiser.

The meeting went well with lots of ideas discussed and taken on board to provide further guidance to the developing project and applications. We have also been collecting together photographs to use on the app and website for aiding identification of species. Most of the photographs have been kindly supplied by keen local wildlife photographers including Richard Ford, Rob Skinner, Josie Hewitt and Lee Fuller. They are great photos – here are some examples!

Looking forward, the preparation for the projects are not far from completion with analyse of older data on going and the website and app coming on. We already have a number of volunteer birders and bird ringers who have already expressed interest and signed up which is brilliant. Are you also keen to make a different and get involved in this exciting project? Email!

Have a great week and thank you for reading.
